TAWAZ (Rangitāne) is a multi award-winning Māori artist, singer songwriter, and reo champion from Te Papaioea, Palmy. Rising to national attention on New Zealand’s Got Talent, he has grown into one of Aotearoa’s leading voices in contemporary Māori music, blending soulful sound with strong cultural identity. 

A back-to-back winner of Te Māngai Pāho’s Te Manu Taki Māori o te Tau (Best Māori Artist) at the 2024 and 2026 Aotearoa Music Awards, alongside a Mana Reo win, TAWAZ is recognised for both his artistry and industry impact, supporting top artists as a mātanga reo and collaborator.  

TAWAZ will continue to create Māori music until all Māori are fluent.
